Mailroom Clerk

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Mailroom Clerk to manage the efficient processing of incoming and outgoing mail within our organization. This role is vital to ensuring timely delivery of correspondence, packages, and documents across departments. The ideal candidate will be organized, capable of handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds, and committed to maintaining a smooth mailroom operation.

Responsibilities

• Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages to appropriate departments or individuals promptly.
• Prepare outgoing mail by sorting, labeling, and affixing postage as needed.
• Operate mailroom equipment including scanners, postage meters, and package handling tools.
• Collect, transport, and deliver mail and packages within the organization efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive documents and parcels.
• Keep the mailroom clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Lift and carry packages weighing up to 25 pounds regularly to facilitate proper handling and delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a mailroom or similar role is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $30.00 per hour
