What they need
Job Summary
We're looking for a Mailroom Coordinator to manage the flow of mail and packages coming in and out of our building each day. You'll sort incoming mail by department, log deliveries, and get packages to the right desks or mailboxes. Some days it's a steady trickle, other days a big shipment comes in and you're sorting for a solid hour straight. You'll also handle outgoing mail, prepping envelopes and packages for pickup and making sure postage is correct. It's a role that usually runs on a routine, but you'll need to adjust when something urgent needs to go out same day. You'll be the person people come to when they're not sure where a package went, so keeping good records matters.
Responsibilities
- Sorting incoming mail and packages by department or recipient
- Logging deliveries in the mailroom system
- Distributing mail to desks, offices, or mailboxes on a regular route
- Prepping outgoing mail and packages, checking addresses and postage before they go out
- Answering questions from staff about missing or delayed packages
- Restock mailroom supplies like envelopes, labels, and boxes
- Keeping the mailroom organized and clear of clutter
- Coordinating with couriers or delivery drivers when they arrive
Qualifications
- You keep careful track of where things are, especially when packages pile up during busy stretches.
- Clear communication matters here, since you'll often be the one answering questions about a missing delivery.
- Being comfortable with basic computer or scanning systems helps you log deliveries accurately.
- Organizational skills come into play daily, since a misplaced package usually means a frustrated employee somewhere.
- Punctuality matters, since mail routes and pickup times run on a schedule.
- If something arrives damaged or mislabeled, you're willing to flag it before it goes any further.
- Being reliable and steady day to day is something the role depends on.
- You stay friendly and patient even when someone's asking about a package for the third time that week.
Pay: $25.15 - $30.29 per hour
Expected hours: 33.0 – 67.0 per week
Benefits:
- 401(k)
