Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mailroom Manager at our Washington, MO location. This full-time position requires a team player who will operate and maintain the Packaging Department's machines and oversee staff. This position is responsible for the coordination of departmental inserting and press activities and the maintenance of accurate records to document and analyze daily production. The normal hours are between 7am and 4pm and may include shifts with earlier starting and ending times.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily mail distribution operations, including sorting, processing, and delivering mail throughout the organization
• Ensure packaging department equipment is fully operational at all times, including, but not limited to, inserting machines, stackers, strapppers, and conveyors
• Set up the inserting machines for runs and make adjustments to the machines if they are not running properly
• Ensure the correct inserts are loaded into the newspaper and maintain a high level of quality for all products produced
• Lead a group of employees running the machines and train employees on safe operations of equipment, as well as being an active team member during production runs
• Ensure complete adherence to all departmental and company procedures including, but not limited to, housekeeping, appropriate use of equipment and tools, proper equipment repairs, and follow-up with maintenance until problems are resolved
• Work in accordance with established safety practices
• Search out opportunities for improvements that can be made
• Monitor and supervise live press runs when needed

Requirements

• 5 years of supervisory experience in a mailroom packaging department, or similar industrial environment, is preferred
• Familiarity with USPS rules/regulations is preferred
• Must possess good mechanical aptitude and ability
• Ability to work independently, analyze situations, and conditions
• Ability to implement solutions while meeting deadines
• Good concentration with attention to detail
• Ability to follow and give direction
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all personnel

Salary is based on experience.
