Main Kitchen - Commis III

About the role

We are seeking a passionate, hardworking, and enthusiastic Commis III to join our Main Kitchen team. The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and support daily restaurant operations while ensuring food quality, consistency, and hygiene standards are maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chef and senior kitchen team members in preparing ingredients and dishes for the events.
• Perform basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, and storing ingredients.
• Follow recipes, portion standards, and instructions provided by the Chef.
• Assist in preparing mise en place for banquet functions, events, and special occasions.
• Ensure food is prepared and handled according to established quality, hygiene, and food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of food items according to hotel procedures.
• Minimise food wastage and handle kitchen supplies responsibly.
• Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely preparation and delivery of banquet meals.
• Follow all kitchen standard operating procedures and workplace safety requirements.

Requirements:

• Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; no prior experience required.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Must possess a valid typhoid vaccination and Food Handler Training Certificate, if available. Candidates without these may be required to obtain them upon employment.
