Mainframe Db2 System Programmer

As a System Administrator at firm, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum Of platforms and services. You'll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. Role & responsibilities

• Install configure, maintain, and upgrade DB2 subsystems.
• Plan and execute DB2 version migrations and maintenance. Configure data sharing environments.
• Manage DB2 infrastructure availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery. Optimize subsystem performance and resource consumption.
• Support application teams during major incidents and performance issues. Define standards for utilities, backup, recovery, and capacity growth.

Preferred candidate profile

• Required Technical and professional Expertise experience in DB2 for z/OS Administration, including installation, configuration, data sharing, and SMP/E maintenance.
• Expertise in DB2 performance tuning, buffer pool optimization, SQL diagnostics, and database utilities (REORG, RUNSTATS, copy, RECOVER).
• Experience with disaster recovery planning, z/OS internals, SMF/RMF analysis, and problem determination.
• Knowledge of change and release management processes in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware ESX, and public/private cloud management, including to cloud migrations.
• preferred Technical and Professional Experience IBM Certified Database Administrator Db2 for ZIOS certification. Experience with IBM Db2 Tools, OMEGAMON, BMC MainView, or CA Database Management solutions.
• Knowledge of automation tools (REXX, CLIST, Ansible) and Infrastructure as Code (laC).
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, z/OSMF, IBM Z, Parallel Sysplex, GDPS, and high-availabiity solutions.
• Experience with vulnerability management, Microsoft Active Directory, and ADFS. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills in mission- critical enterprise environments
