This role is designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals looking to build a long-term leadership career in logistics and supply chain.

Starting in an entry-level operations role, you'll learn our sophisticated global logistics operations from the ground up. No part of the operation is below or above you. It's all about understanding the big picture.

This program starts in operations. You should be excited about learning the business from the warehouse floor up and prepared to spend significant time in a hands-on operational environment before progressing into leadership opportunities.

During your time in the Future Leaders Program, you will spend time in operations before taking ownership of customer accounts, ensuring you develop a deep understanding of our business from the ground up.

From here, there are many options for progression as our culture is to promote our team from within. Once you have mastered the fundamentals, you can decide where your best fit is: sales, operations management, branch management, IT, Team Development, or a Division Specialist role.

The Leadership Development Role

• Begin by learning warehousing operations hands-on, starting directly on the warehouse floor to understand how freight moves and how our teams operate.
• Gain exposure to customer service, shipment coordination, and develop a full understanding of how our warehouse supports our customers.
• After mastering the basics, progress into a customer-facing role where you're responsible for managing customer accounts.
• As your knowledge grows, you'll take on greater responsibility, ownership, and scope within the operation.
• You'll be encouraged to identify and improve processes, contributing to efficiency, accuracy, and team success.
• You are empowered to shape your own career path. Advancement at Mainfreight is driven by your initiative, performance, and leadership potential.
• Over time, you can progress into leadership roles within warehousing or explore opportunities across the wider business. Internal transfers are available but not required.

The Candidate

• Recently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree, or in the early stages of your professional career.
• Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Natural leadership qualities and a desire to take on future leadership positions.
• Results-driven and committed to excellence.
• Confident and self-aware with a high level of personal reflection.
• Takes responsibility and approaches challenges with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
• Combines strong customer focus with analytical thinking and sound judgment.
• Looking for a long-term career with a company that invests in development and growth.
• Excited by the prospect of learning the business from the ground up, including spending at least your first year working in operations.
• Comfortable working in a physical warehouse environment.
• Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently throughout the shift and move heavier items using team lifts or mechanical assistance.
