Position Summary

Rosewood Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our skilled nursing facility. The Maintenance Assistant will assist with routine repairs, preventative maintenance, facility upkeep, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance and repairs throughout the facility
• Perform routine inspections of the building, equipment, rooms, and common areas
• Assist with preventative maintenance and address maintenance requests in a timely manner
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and other general repairs as needed
• Replace light bulbs, fixtures, hardware, filters, and other basic maintenance items
• Assist with maintaining doors, locks, windows, furniture, and facility equipment
• Help keep the grounds and exterior areas safe and well maintained
• Respond to maintenance requests from facility staff and residents as appropriate
• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and repairs
• Assist with emergency maintenance situations when needed
• Follow all facility safety procedures, infection control requirements, and regulatory standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or Administrator

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, facilities, handyman, construction, or related experience preferred
• Skilled nursing, healthcare, hospital, assisted living, or long-term care experience is a plus
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
