Maintenance Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance checks and inspections of restaurant equipment, including kitchen appliances, HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, and electrical systems
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to minimize equipment breakdowns and extend the lifespan of facility assets
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repair issues reported by restaurant staff, ensuring quick resolution
• Assist with minor repairs and troubleshooting of equipment, or escalate complex issues to qualified technicians when necessary
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs completed, and parts used
• Ensure all work areas remain clean and organized, adhering to health and safety regulations
• Support the implementation and compliance of health and safety standards throughout the facility
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure minimal disruption to restaurant operations during maintenance work
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties as required to support overall facility upkeep

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities management role, preferably within the hospitality or food service industry
• Strong knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC equipment operation and maintenance
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, equipment specifications, and maintenance schedules
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues independently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to work flexible hours if required
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Basic computer literacy for recording maintenance logs and accessing digital systems
• Relevant certifications in maintenance, electrical work, or plumbing are advantageous but not essential
