Maintenance Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Assistant to join our long-term care facility team. This position will assist with general facility maintenance, floor care, and transportation of residents to medical appointments.

Duties

• Strip, wax, buff, and maintain facility floors.
• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
• Assist with painting, plumbing, carpentry, and other facility projects.
• Keep common areas, equipment, and work areas clean and safe.
• Transport residents safely to and from doctor, therapy, dental, and other approved appointments.
• Assist residents safely in and out of the facility vehicle.
• Maintain required transportation records and vehicle cleanliness.
• Report maintenance, safety, or vehicle concerns promptly.
• Follow all facility safety, infection-control, and resident-care policies.
• Treat residents, families, visitors, and coworkers with dignity and respect.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous maintenance, floor-care, healthcare, or long-term care experience preferred.
• Experience stripping and waxing commercial floors is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
• Must be dependable, professional, and able to work independently.
• Must be able to stand, bend, lift, push, and pull as required for the position.

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
