MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

About the role

To assist in the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and equipment
• Assist in repairing electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems as directed
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, and minor repairs to maintain the hotel in good condition
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls from guests and departments
• Assist in monitoring and recording utility usage (water, electricity, gas) when required
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly used, maintained, and stored safely
• Support in setting up, moving, and maintaining hotel furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
• Report any hazards, damages, or malfunctions immediately to the Maintenance Supervisor
• Assist in emergency response procedures, including fire alarm testing and evacuation drills

About you

• Must possess at least Certificate/Diploma related to the field
• At least 1 year of working experience as maintenance personnel in hotel industry
• Well versed with maintenance operations and administrations
• Able to work in a fast pace environment
• Proactive and result oriented
• Guest oriented and service minded person
• Able to work in rotation shift inclusive during weekend and public holidays
• Able to be present in hotel during emergency situation
