Maintenance Assistant

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist in the maintenance and repair on a variety of production equipment

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform regular preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment, including oiling and greasing of machinery.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records on all equipment.
• Disassemble, select repair procedures and repair or replace worn or defective parts using hand tools, hand power tools and simple machine tools.
• Assist in moving equipment.
• Notify supervisor (or lead person) immediately of problems, concerns or questions you may have.
• Follow special job instructions as communicated by Maintenance Lead or managers.
• Any other duties as assigned by Plant Manager or Maintenance Lead.
• Keep work area clean and free of hazard
• Actively promote and maintain a safe work environment.
• Comply with all Company policies.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic knowledge of industrial maintenance
• Must have own set of hand tools
• Knowledge of metal stamping/fabrication equipment
• High level of mechanical aptitude
• Able to read English as required for interpreting manuals and prints; and to speak and understand English to communicate effectively with co-workers
• Safety and quality minded
• Self motivated, takes initiative
• Capable of working with minimal supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Metal shop environment; Air conditioned plant area; Heights; Small spaces; Appropriate personal protective gear required at all times while in the shop.

LEVEL:

Works under minimal supervision, exercises large degree of discretion and independent judgment. Works under the pressure of deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45.0 – 55.0 per week
