Maintenance / Caretaker

About Us:
We are a community-focused non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing and support services. We are currently seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance / Caretaker to support the upkeep and daily operations of our residential facilities.

Position Summary:
The Maintenance / Caretaker is responsible for general building maintenance, minor repairs, and ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems and common areas
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Coordinate with external contractors as required
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas and exterior grounds
• Support unit turnovers, including basic repairs and preparation for new residents
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and organizational procedures

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 3 years of experience in maintenance, building operations, or a related field
• Strong hands-on skills and problem-solving ability
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks and lift as required
• Experience in residential or social housing is an asset
• Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is an asset
• Applicants must provide a police-issued certificate of no criminal record and must have no history of misconduct toward the elderly.
