Maintenance Technician – Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Technician to keep the building, bedrooms, equipment, and facilities safe and in good condition.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Test fire alarms every week.
• Carry out weekly and monthly audits and safety checks.
• Complete basic repairs and general maintenance.
• Paint walls when needed.
• Redecorate bedrooms when required.
• Repair damaged walls and other areas.
• Check equipment and report any faults.
• Carry out regular checks to prevent problems.
• Keep records of maintenance work and completed audits.
• Report any safety issues and arrange repairs as soon as possible.
• Make sure the building and bedrooms are clean, safe, comfortable, and well maintained.

All work must be completed safely and on time. Weekly and monthly audits should be recorded, and any problems found should be reported and followed up.

Experience and Skills

• Experience in building maintenance, general repairs, and keeping facilities safe and in good condition.
• Experience carrying out regular inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with weekly and monthly audits and safety checks.
• Knowledge of fire alarm testing and basic health and safety procedures.
• Experience with painting walls, redecorating bedrooms, and carrying out general maintenance work.
• Ability to identify faults and arrange repairs when needed.
• Good record-keeping skills, including completing maintenance logs and inspection reports.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work well with other staff members.
• Ability to organise maintenance tasks and complete work on time.
• Knowledge of health and safety rules and the importance of following safe working practices.
• A helpful and proactive approach to solving problems and responding to maintenance requests.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 14.0 per week
