Your work will help minimize downtime, improve press reliability, support safe production, and maintain equipment performance in a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities
· Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on metal stamping presses, press controls, feed lines, straighteners, coil reels, conveyors, and related production equipment.
· Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, ammeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
· Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, sensor, motor control, and low-voltage control issues affecting press uptime and production quality.
· Support press line startups, equipment changeovers, and production needs by responding quickly to breakdowns and minimizing unplanned downtime.
· Maintain, repair, and adjust equipment components such as motors, drives, control panels, limit switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pumps, valves, cylinders, bearings, guards, and safety devices.
· Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to complete work orders, document repairs, track preventive maintenance, and identify recurring equipment issues.
· Perform basic welding, fabrication, mechanical adjustments, and equipment repairs as needed to restore safe and reliable operation.
· Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, equipment drawings, and machine manuals to support accurate troubleshooting and repairs.
· Partner with production, tooling, engineering, and quality teams to improve press reliability, reduce scrap, support root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
· Follow all plant safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, PPE requirements, and applicable OSHA and environmental standards.
Skills
· 5 years experience maintaining equipment in a metal stamping, automotive, fabrication, or high-volume manufacturing environment.
· Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, sensors, relays, drives, control panels, and low-voltage systems.
· Hands-on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used on stamping presses and automated production equipment.
· Ability to troubleshoot and maintain press lines, feed equipment, coil handling systems, conveyors, and related manufacturing machinery.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, machine manuals, blueprints, and hydraulic or pneumatic diagrams.
· Proficiency using multimeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
· Experience using CMMS software for work orders, preventive maintenance documentation, parts tracking, and maintenance history.
· Knowledge of lockout/tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, and safe work practices in an industrial manufacturing setting.
· Basic welding, fabrication, machining, or mechanical repair skills preferred.
· Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and urgency when supporting production equipment and downtime events.
Join us as a Maintenance Electrical Technician and apply your technical expertise in a metal stamping manufacturing environment where safety, equipment reliability, production uptime, and continuous improvement are essential to success.
