Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the proper operation, safety, reliability, and upkeep of the school's buildings, facilities, utilities, and equipment. The position oversees regular inspections, preventive maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and timely repair of facilities and equipment to support a safe, functional, and efficient learning and working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of school buildings, facilities, utilities, equipment, and other physical assets to identify maintenance needs and potential issues.
• Plan, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance activities for facilities, utilities, and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate or oversee necessary repairs.
• Monitor the condition, performance, and operational reliability of building systems and equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with concerned offices, personnel, contractors, and service providers.
• Prepare and monitor work orders, maintenance schedules, inspection reports, and other technical documentation.
• Ensure that maintenance activities are completed properly, safely, and within the required timeframe.
• Monitor the inventory and proper utilization of maintenance-related materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment status, and related activities.
• Ensure that maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with applicable safety standards, institutional policies, and established procedures.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Preferably a Licensed/Registered Engineer.
• Relevant experience in facility, building, utility, and/or equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with building systems, utilities, equipment, and basic troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices related to maintenance activities.
• Strong planning, monitoring, documentation, and coordination skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and other relevant technical documentation tools.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple maintenance activities and priorities.
