Our Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Shift Engineer to join our dedicated team at our Meadow Fresh dairy manufacturing site in Christchurch. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will provide high quality maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on improving the operational effectiveness of the site.

Shift pattern: Rotating2 Days, 2 Nights on / 4 off.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

• Undertake scheduled planned maintenance tasks including planned activities
• Attend and resolve unplanned maintenance tasks including breakdowns
• Ensure machinery and plant is maintained to ensure optimum performance
• Perform general mechanical, motor and conveyor repairs
• Maintain all site engineering documentation and plant logs, ensuring accuracy and up to date information is available at all times.
• Drive factory quality and SHE standards to ensure and demonstrate continued and sustainable improvement in safety for the site
• Assist in preparing site when required for external and regulatory audits

The successful applicant will have:

• Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Machine/Welding
• GMP and food safety understanding
• Strong root cause analysis for timely breakdown resolutions
• HS&E knowledge, including machinery guarding
• Experience in Food and FMCG manufacturing (desirable)
• Experienced fitter (Conveyor belts, motors, sprockets, bearing, gears and pneumatics)
