What they need
Maintenance Engineer (11.30am – 8pm Mon to Fri) Electrical Bias
Rugby, Warwickshire
£40k + “lock up” bonus, generous benefits, generous overtime and pension
Our client has been established globally for over a century and are recognised as market leaders in the manufacture and distribution of their niche sector solutions, and as a result of continued success and ongoing programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a multi skilled, electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to complement their professional engineering team.
Reporting to the Engineering and Process Improvement Manager, the successful candidate will be working as part of a team of multi-disciplinary maintenance engineers tasked with undertaking both PPM and reactive breakdown maintenance repairs on a range of automated systems and mechanical handling equipment including conveyors, shuttle systems, cranes, robots and vision systems in a fast paced automated warehousing and distribution centre environment, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment is sustained at all times.
Working closely with the Engineering and Process Improvement Manager, you will assist in the delivery of improvements to equipment and with projects to develop best practices, and also with the Senior MHE Engineer on maintaining the equipment and liaising with operations where necessary to resolve any problems that could affect productivity.
It is envisaged the successful candidate will have successfully completed an apprenticeship in electrical maintenance engineering or equivalent and demonstrate at least 4 years’ experience gained within an Electrically biased multi-skilled maintenance engineer role.
You will have good technical knowledge of automation electrical systems, S7 PLC and inverter driven systems, Profinet, Profibus, Can bus and ASI networks and barcode scanning networks, as well as proven experience of manual/automated picking cranes, pallet and tote conveyer systems and of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
You will be skilled in fault finding and repair as well as undertaking root cause analysis activities to prevent re-occurrence, adhering to PPM schedules as appropriate and documenting details of work undertaken. You will also essentially be comfortable in working at heights.
With excellent communication skills at all levels and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, you will be skilled in problem solving and working in a safe and meticulous manner at all times as well as always seeking ways to improve current methods, systems, processes and procedures to ensure increased productivity, quality and reliability wherever possible.
In return an attractive remuneration package and generous benefits are available as well as both training and career progression opportunities.
