MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

We are looking for a proactive and technically competent Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of factory machinery, production equipment and supporting systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for improving equipment reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, supporting production efficiency and ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

PREVENTIVE AND CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE

• Develop, implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for production machinery, equipment and factory utilities.
• Ensure regular equipment inspections, servicing and repairs are completed according to established maintenance plans.
• Diagnose equipment faults, investigate recurring breakdowns and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintenance accurate maintenance records, equipment history and technical documentation.

MACHINERY TROUBLESHOOTING AND RELIABILITY

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and equipment control problems within the candidate's competence and authorisation.
• Identify root causes of machinery failures and recommend practical solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and reduce production downtime.
• Support machinery installation, commissioning, modification and improvement projects when required.

PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

• Work closely with the Production Department to ensure machinery and equipment remain in good operating condition.
• Respond to urgent breakdowns and priorities repair activities according to production requirements.
• Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production operations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians.

SAFETY, QUALITY AND COMPLIANCE

• Ensure maintenance work complies with company safety procedures and applicable legal requirements.
• Identify equipment hazards and implement appropriate corrective measures.
• Ensure maintenance activities are conducted using appropriate safety precautions and equipment isolation procedures.

REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION

• Prepare maintenance reports covering equipment breakdowns, repairs, preventive maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Maintain proper maintenance schedules, checklists, technical records and spare parts information.
• Monitor maintenance issues and report significant equipment risks to Management.
• Perform other relevant duties assigned by Management from time to time

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in industrial or manufacturing equipment maintenance is preferred.
• Good knowledge of preventive maintenance, machinery troubleshooting and equipment reliability.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems, electrical control systems and industrial equipment is an advantage.
• Experience with production line machinery, packaging equipment, automation or food manufacturing equipment will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, planning and coordination skills.
• Willing to respond to urgent equipment breakdowns and work overtime when reasonably required by operational needs, subject to applicable requirements.
