Maintenance Engineer

As a Maintenance Engineer at Freefoam your days will be varied and interesting and often challenging. As a member of our established maintenance team, you will work together to deliver a wide range of proactive and reactive mechanical and electrical services. The maintenance team supports the manufacturing activities of the company, ensures that production machinery and equipment are operating efficiently and in a safe manner, to minimise production and machine downtime.

Freefoam is a leading manufacturer of PVC-U and PVC-UE roofline, rainwater and cladding products for the building industry in the UK

You will be a part of the Maintenance Team, responsible for general and preventative maintenance on Production process machinery and equipment. You will react to breakdowns as they occur to ensure timely repairs.

In this position you will have particular focus on mixing plant and extrusion equipment to deliver increased quality and efficiencies. You will also be involved in installation, modifications and refurbishment of machinery and equipment including site utility services and will monitor and report status of equipment routinely.

Qualifications and Skills

• Completed recognized mechanical or electrical apprenticeship and/or hold a HNC in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or similar
• 17th Edition Wiring Regulations would be an advantage
• Experience in turning, milling, welding and fabrication would be an advantage
• Previous maintenance related experience gained in a manufacturing environment, plastics, extrusion industry desirable)
• Have sound mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of the mechanical aspects of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• Possess excellent knowledge and proven competence in general maintenance skills
