About the role:

Reporting directly to our Maintenance and Reliability Manager, this qualified Maintenance Fitter will be part of our 3 person Maintenance team, providing end-to-end maintenance at our facility,  with an emphasis on preventative maintenance.

Daily Tasks include:

• Following the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure machinery, equipment and facility are maintained.
• Inspect, reassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and replace malfunctioning parts or equipment.
• Fabrication, welding and machining work where required.
• Attend to machine/equipment breakdowns and undertake repairs.
• Record maintenance and corrective work in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (MEX)
• Keeping work areas and workshop clean and in a safe state.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

• Certificate IV in Engineering - Mechanical Trade. (Australian recognised Mechanical Trades qualification only)
• Proven experience in a Mechanical Fitter role
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in breakdowns as well and preventive maintenance tasks
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Proven experience in assessing equipment conditions and making sound decisions on corrective actions
• A safety-oriented mindset with the ability to demonstrate safe behaviours in the workplace
• A strong understanding of pneumatics
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Unrestricted working rights within Australia

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

• Experience in a primary food processing or food and beverage industry manufacturing environment
• Welding experience - preferably TIG
• B Class Electrical Licence
• Forklift Licence
• Working at Heights and Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
• Understanding of 5S principles
• Familiar with HACCP & SQF compliance
