About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Fitter to join our team at our Narre Warren North site**.** This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of machinery, equipment and infrastructure across our packing and warehousing facilities.

Working as part of a collaborative maintenance team, you will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving equipment performance and supporting the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced food production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical and electrical systems, including conveyors, motors, gearboxes and automated equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and implement effective solutions to minimise operational disruption.
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on plant, machinery, hydraulic systems and site infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and maintain automated fruit handling systems, refrigeration equipment and warehouse facilities.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to source parts, technical support and specialist services when required.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure critical components are readily available.
• Collaborate with operational teams to identify recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Assist with root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain maintenance schedules based on equipment performance and operational requirements.
• Record all maintenance activities accurately, including work orders, service reports and fault logs.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical expertise, a safety-first mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Essential Requirements

• Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification.
• Forklift Licence.
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence.
• Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect Permit or Restricted Electrical Workers Licence (REL).
• MIG and TIG welding experience.
• Demonstrated experience in plant maintenance within manufacturing, agricultural or industrial environments.
• Experience working with automated equipment and mechanical systems.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and time management skills.

Desirable

• Experience within FMCG, food production or packing operations.
• Exposure to lean maintenance principles and continuous improvement programs.
• Experience working in refrigerated warehousing or automated production environments.

This role is an Afternoon Shift 12:00pm - 8:00pm (some flexibility can apply)
