Maintenance Fitter – Day or Afternoon Shift

A great opportunity is available for a qualified and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a well-established manufacturing operation in Northern Adelaide.

Working within a large-scale production environment, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production machinery, responding to mechanical breakdowns and completing preventative maintenance to keep the plant operating safely and efficiently.

Shift Times
Day Shift:

• Monday – Thursday: 6:00am – 2:30pm
• Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm
  Afternoon Shift:
• Monday – Thursday: 2:15pm – 10:45pm
• Friday: 11:45am – 5:45pm
• 15% afternoon shift loading
  The Role
  Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play an important role in keeping production equipment operating reliably and minimising downtime.
  Your duties will include:
• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across production machinery and plant equipment
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and complete effective fault finding and repairs
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a range of industrial equipment
• Complete planned maintenance in line with site requirements
• Carry out mechanical repairs, adjustments, installations and modifications
• Work with mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, bearings and associated equipment
• Identify recurring equipment issues and assist with implementing long-term solutions
• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Contribute to continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Mechanical Trade Certificate – Fitter/Machinist, Fitter & Turner or similar
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience with both preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation
• Ability to prioritise breakdowns and respond quickly to production requirements
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
