America’s Best Value Inn is looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance / Groundskeeper to help keep our hotel, equipment, and grounds in good working order.

This is an as-needed position with no set weekly hours, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for a flexible side hustle, extra income, or a chance to put their maintenance skills to work.

Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Light plumbing repairs and maintenance
• Basic electrical repairs and troubleshooting
• Basic HVAC maintenance
• Introductory-level carpentry and repairs
• Replacing light bulbs, fixtures, switches, and other minor items
• Repairing and maintaining vacuums and other hotel equipment
• Minor repairs to doors, furniture, fixtures, and guest-room items
• Painting and touch-up work
• Preventative maintenance throughout the property
• Shoveling snow and assisting with winter weather preparations
• Lawn care, gardening, weeding, trimming, and general landscaping
• Maintaining sidewalks, parking areas, and exterior grounds
• Identifying maintenance issues and reporting larger problems when professional service is needed
• Keeping work areas, storage areas, and grounds clean and organized
• Other general maintenance tasks as needed

• Dependable and reliable
• Comfortable working independently

• Hands-on and willing to tackle a variety of tasks
• Comfortable using common hand and power tools
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors
• Available on an as-needed basis
• Experienced in maintenance, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, or related work preferred

Experience and knowledge will be compensated accordingly.

Training Available

Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. You don't need to know how to do everything listed above. We are willing to train the right person who has basic mechanical skills, a willingness to learn, and a good work ethic.

Pay

Starting wage: $11/hour

Pay is based on experience, knowledge, and demonstrated skills.

Highly skilled and experienced candidates may earn up to $15/hour.

Schedule:

As Needed – No Set Hours

Hours will vary based on hotel needs, maintenance issues, weather, seasonal grounds work, and ongoing projects.

This position is ideal for someone looking for a flexible side hustle or supplemental income without a set weekly schedule.
