Maintenance Handyman

About the role

Borneo Hotel (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Handyman to join our team in Kuching, Sarawak. As a full-time employee, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing the hotel's facilities and equipment, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for our guests.

What you'll be doing

1. Perform general maintenance tasks such as repairs, painting, plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry
2. Conduct regular inspections of the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems to identify and address any issues
3. Respond promptly to service requests and work orders, and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
4. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs
5. Assist with the set-up and breakdown of events and functions held at the hotel
6. Collaborate with the Facilities Management team to ensure the hotel's operations run smoothly

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry
2. Strong practical skills, including knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance
3. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions
4. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and colleagues
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Flexible and adaptable to handle a variety of tasks and changing priorities
