Maintenance Handyman

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Handyman to join our property management company! Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Conduct repairs on electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC units, and building interior fixtures using appropriate tools and schematics.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues and ensuring safety compliance.
• Carry out carpentry tasks including maintenance painting, drywall repairs, door adjustments, and other building interior improvements.
• Maintain facilities equipment by performing preventive maintenance tasks and responding promptly to repair requests from staff or management.
• Support maintenance painting projects to enhance the appearance and longevity of interior spaces.
• Follow safety protocols diligently while handling electrical work, welding tasks, or working at heights; document all repairs accurately.

Requirements

• Proven experience with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) in a commercial or residential setting.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting complex systems.
• Hands-on experience with electrical work including repair of electrical equipment and understanding of electrical systems; proficiency with tools like ohmmeters is essential.
• Knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repair techniques for residential or commercial buildings.
• Ability to perform HVAC system repairs and understand HVAC components for troubleshooting purposes.
• Skilled in welding techniques to handle metal repairs when necessary.
• Competency in carpentry tasks such as framing, drywall installation, and painting; experience with maintenance painting is preferred.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for troubleshooting automated systems.
• Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate effectively with team members and report issues clearly.
• Leadership qualities that enable guiding junior staff or apprentices during maintenance projects are advantageous.

Pay: $26.26 - $28.00 per hour
