Maintenance Handyman

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Handyman to join our facilities team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of building systems and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment. Your expertise will help keep our facilities running smoothly, supporting operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and building interior components to prevent issues before they arise.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other hand tools to restore functionality efficiently.
• Conduct welding, carpentry, painting (including maintenance painting and residential painting), and general facilities repairs with precision and safety in mind.
• Maintain facilities equipment including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Use technical schematics and diagrams to diagnose problems accurately; execute repairs adhering to safety standards.
• Assist with maintenance of building interior spaces, including drywall repairs, painting touch-ups, and fixture replacements.
• Support maintenance operations by managing maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies; prioritize tasks effectively for timely completion.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal requests promptly and professionally while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Lead small maintenance projects when required, demonstrating leadership in problem-solving and teamwork.

Experience

• Proven experience in building maintenance or facilities management with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of electrical work including troubleshooting electrical circuits and repairing electrical equipment.
• Skilled in welding techniques and carpentry tasks with the ability to read schematics confidently.
• Familiarity with HVAC system repair, including troubleshooting thermostats, compressors, fans, filters, and ductwork.
• Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to use hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers along with testing instruments like ohmmeters effectively.
• Strong understanding of plumbing system maintenance including pipe repairs and leak detection.
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks independently while working as part of a team.
