About the Role

Enwood Boarding House for girls is seeking a reliable, hands‑on Caretaker / Maintenance Support person to help keep our facilities, buildings, and grounds running smoothly. This role suits someone practical and proactive — including retirees who enjoy staying active — as well as anyone who takes pride in maintaining tidy, safe, well‑kept spaces.

This is generally a term‑time only position, however additional hours may be required for events, promotions, or operational needs.

You will have a minimum 12 hours per week, with flexibility to select workdays and start/finish times. These hours will be mutually agreed between you and the Director of Boarding to ensure suitability for both parties and alignment with operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• General maintenance — Complete day‑to‑day repairs, minor fixes, and preventative maintenance across the facility.
• Grounds and property care — Maintain tidy, well‑presented lawns, gardens, pathways, and outdoor areas.
• Cleaning and waste management — Support cleaning tasks and ensure waste is managed safely and efficiently.
• Facility upkeep — Carry out regular maintenance checks, respond promptly to repairs, and ensure buildings and grounds remain clean, safe, and hazard‑free.
• Event and operations support — Assist with boarding events, set‑ups, pack‑downs, and general operational needs.

All successful candidates must complete a New Zealand Police Vetting clearance as part of our standard safeguarding requirements for working in a boarding environment.
