Maintenance Lead

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Lead to join our team located in Wolverhampton,UK. Reporting to: Director - Operations & Engineering

Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm

Summary We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Lead to take ownership of maintenance activities across our Wolverhampton site. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, contractor management, and minimising downtime while ensuring the highest safety standards are maintained.

What Success Looks Like

• Coordinate and maintain all site maintenance activities, including external contractors.
• Manage and maintain the MaintainX maintenance management system.
• Assign, prioritise and monitor maintenance work orders.
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance programmes effectively.
• Diagnose equipment failures and coordinate timely repairs.
• Support equipment installations, commissioning and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Manage spare parts inventory and supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to minimise downtime and improve reliability.

What You Bring

• Proven experience in planned and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing, production, or process environment.
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Team Leader, or a strong maintenance professional ready to step into a leadership role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with either an electrical or mechanical bias.
• 17th edition or NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, equivalent qualification in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering.
