Maintenance Manager At GIMPA

Job Summary The Maintenance Manager shall be responsible for the management and maintenance of al physical infrastructure of the Institute in a cost-effective way.

Reporting Relationship The successful candidate shall report to the Registrar.

Responsibilities The successful candidate shall:

• Maintain accurate records of the condition of equipment and other systems in the Institute and create a schedule of regular evaluation of all Institutes' properties.
• Create monitoring systems or programmes in the Institute to detect problems as early as possible and initiate interventions for timely solutions to the problems.
• Develop a regular system for cleaning, repairs and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures that affect the use of supplies and facilities.
• Develop back-up or alternative systems for common problems such as power interruptions and water shortage.
• Ensure the safety of the building or establishment from fire, flood and other hazards.
• Prepare pertinent records and reports for the attention of management.
• Participate in budget preparation so that the maintenance team will have adequate funds for its operation.
• Develop staff training programmes for the maintenance team such as skill enhancement training sessions for effective work output.
• Evaluate the work quality of the maintenance team.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned by Management from time to time.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering/Building Technology/Architecture from a reputable Institution.
• Minimum of five (5) years post qualification working experience in a relevant held.
