Regional Victoria | Food Manufacturing | Senior Site Leadership

An established food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance and engineering function at a large regional Victorian manufacturing site.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will have responsibility for plant reliability, maintenance performance, minimising operational downtime and developing a strong preventative maintenance culture.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the site maintenance and engineering function
• Drive preventative maintenance and reliability improvement
• Minimise production downtime through effective maintenance planning and execution
• Lead and develop Maintenance Supervisors, Planners and trades
• Improve maintenance schedules and address recurring equipment issues
• Manage maintenance expenditure, labour utilisation and key cost measures
• Ensure statutory inspections, audits and compliance requirements are met
• Identify opportunities to improve existing plant and future assets
• Lead capital projects from scoping and supplier selection through to installation and commissioning
• Partner with Operations and site leadership to support production and broader business objectives

About You

To be successful, you will ideally bring:

• Significant maintenance and engineering experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, processing or a similarly complex industrial environment
• Experience leading a site maintenance or engineering function
• Strong people leadership across trades and maintenance teams
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement
• Experience managing maintenance budgets and capital expenditure
• Experience delivering plant upgrades and capital projects
• Strong understanding of safety, compliance and statutory maintenance requirements
• A Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background, or a relevant technical/trade background combined with substantial maintenance leadership experience
