What they need

Got a plumbing or technical trade background, have led a team before and have experience scheduling jobs? Love being the person who keeps everything moving? This could be your next step.

This is a great opportunity to step into a key role within a growing plumbing maintenance division. The team is currently sitting at five full-time maintenance plumbers, with plans to grow further, so they need someone who can take the reins, keep the workload organised and make sure both the team and clients are well looked after.

You’ll be the go-to person for the maintenance team, managing incoming plumbing maintenance requests, scheduling jobs, dealing with clients and making sure the work gets completed properly and on time. There’s plenty happening, so being organised, proactive and staying one step ahead will be key.

What’s in it for you:

  • $100k-$120k depending on experience
  • Lead a growing plumbing maintenance team
  • Plenty of client interaction and relationship building
  • People-focused leadership role
  • Christchurch based
  • Monday to Friday
  • Plenty of variety
  • Hands-on leadership role
  • Opportunity to shape the maintenance operation

What we are looking for:

  • Previous management or team leadership experience, this is a must
  • Previous experience scheduling jobs and coordinating workloads
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Naturally personable and confident dealing with clients
  • Enjoys client engagement and building relationships
  • Plumbing background would be ideal
  • HVAC or electrical backgrounds also considered
  • Naturally organised and proactive
  • Confident coordinating technical work and keeping people on track
  • Confident with quoting and understanding job requirements
  • Simpro, Fergus or similar job management system experience
  • Comfortable getting out to site when needed

This is a plumbing maintenance role first and foremost, so a hands-on plumbing background would be a huge advantage. That said, they’re open to someone from another technical trade such as HVAC or electrical, provided you have the management, scheduling and client-facing experience to step into the role.

If you haven't come from a trade background, you’ll need previous experience scheduling technical jobs, coordinating trades and getting out to site, with the confidence to understand what’s involved and communicate that back to clients and the team.

If you're a strong communicator, enjoy leading people and take pride in getting things done properly, we'd love to hear from you.
