THE ROLE

As a Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day maintenance of the hotel, ensuring the property remains safe, functional, and well maintained for guests and team members. You’ll oversee preventive and emergency repairs, manage and develop the Engineering team, and take a hands-on approach to keeping guest rooms, building systems, and public spaces in excellent working order. You’ll:

  • Oversee interior and exterior maintenance across the entire property, including guest rooms, public areas, building systems, and grounds
  • Lead, schedule, assign, train, and develop the maintenance team while maintaining clear expectations and accountability

  • Ensure guestroom preventive maintenance is completed and documented, including inspections of electrical appliances, lighting, televisions, refrigerators, and other equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair guestroom HVAC/PTAC systems and other maintenance issues, replacing or repairing equipment as needed
  • Maintain working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, drywall, locks, and pool/spa equipment
  • Conduct regular property inspections and ensure maintenance issues are addressed promptly
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition and oversee maintenance supplies, inventory, and approved purchases
  • Keep exterior lighting, gutters, walkways, parking areas, trash enclosures, landscaping, pool/spa areas, and common spaces properly maintained
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and track the type and frequency of completed work
  • Ensure proper control of hotel keys and familiarity with critical utility shutoffs, plumbing cleanouts, and fire safety equipment
  • Promote safe work practices, proper tool and chemical handling, and compliance with applicable safety requirements
  • Communicate maintenance needs, project updates, and operational concerns to hotel leadership and other departments
  • Provide hands-on support during maintenance emergencies, including after-hours situations when needed
  • Partner with other hotel departments to support smooth operations and a positive guest experience

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

The property is safe, attractive, and operating as it should, with maintenance issues addressed promptly and preventive maintenance consistently completed.
