What they need
Import Towing & Recovery relies on trucks and specialized equipment to respond to roadside emergencies, transport vehicles, and handle demanding recovery jobs.
We're looking for a Maintenance Manager who can keep our fleet dependable, coordinate repairs, and make sure maintenance issues are addressed before they turn into unnecessary downtime.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands vehicles, equipment, and the importance of keeping a busy operation moving.
What you'll be responsible for
- Oversee maintenance and repair activities for towing and recovery vehicles.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and equipment servicing.
- Track maintenance needs for heavy-duty trucks, wreckers, and recovery equipment.
- Work with technicians, repair shops, and outside service providers.
- Monitor vehicle condition and identify potential mechanical problems.
- Coordinate repairs to minimize fleet downtime.
- Maintain maintenance records, service histories, and inspection documentation.
- Monitor parts, tools, and supplies needed for routine maintenance.
- Review repair costs and recommend cost-effective maintenance solutions.
- Support compliance with applicable vehicle safety and inspection requirements.
- Communicate with operations and dispatch teams regarding vehicle availability.
- Help improve maintenance procedures, equipment reliability, and fleet readiness.
What we're looking for
We're interested in candidates with 4+ years of experience in fleet maintenance, diesel repair, heavy equipment maintenance, automotive service, or a related mechanical field.
Previous experience supervising technicians, coordinating repairs, or managing maintenance schedules is strongly preferred.
Experience with towing and recovery equipment is helpful but not required. Candidates from trucking, construction equipment, commercial fleet maintenance, and other vehicle-service industries are encouraged to apply.
You should be comfortable managing multiple maintenance priorities, working with vendors, and using maintenance tracking systems or spreadsheets.
A high school diploma or GED is required. Technical training or additional education in diesel technology, automotive systems, or fleet management is preferred.
What success looks like
Our trucks are maintained properly. Inspections and service records stay current. Repairs are handled before they become larger problems. And when dispatch needs a vehicle, the team knows which equipment is ready to go.
We're looking for someone who takes that responsibility seriously and understands how much a reliable fleet matters to the people depending on it.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
