What they need

Balladonia Hotel Motel is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Manager who enjoys being hands-on and takes pride in keeping facilities operating safely and efficiently.

This is not a desk-based management role. The successful applicant will spend their time actively carrying out repairs, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and working to ensure the property is well maintained.

As a busy remote roadhouse with a high volume of passing traffic, flexibility is essential. The role may require responding to urgent maintenance issues outside normal working hours and assisting with improvement projects as required.

Reporting directly to the Site Manager, this position includes free accommodation and meals for the duration of your employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on maintenance across the entire property.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in buildings, machinery, plant and equipment.
  • Maintain generators and water treatment systems.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance to ensure reliable operation.
  • Prioritise maintenance works to ensure critical repairs are completed efficiently and minimise operational downtime.
  • Work autonomously, exercising sound judgement to identify, assess and resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency maintenance issues.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and compliant work environment.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' practical, hands-on maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a broad range of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Experience maintaining generators, water treatment systems, plant and equipment.
  • The ability and willingness to work independently and get the job done without constant supervision.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with a practical, can-do attitude.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and management.
  • A current Forklift Licence (preferred).
  • A current National Police Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
  • A current Australian driver's licence.

If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, solving problems and taking ownership of a diverse maintenance operation, we'd like to hear from you.

Please apply with your current resume.

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
