Maintenance Mechanic

BASIC FUNCTIONS

Maintenance Mechanic at our Richmond, CA facility is responsible for, but are not limited to maintaining, rebuilding, repair, and the preventative maintenance of all plant operating equipment and facility buildings and grounds safely and in accordance with our Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, process, and repair or replace defective parts, such as gears, clutches, bushings, shafts, bearings, solenoids, valves, pumps, and direction controls as required.
• Monitors operations, audits parts, and when required preforms adjustments necessary to maintain proper setup and to ensure quality production.
• Analyzes equipment/machine problems, performs repairs, or initiates corrective actions.
• Instructs associates in the proper use and care of machines, tools, and measuring instruments.
• Maintain an organized workspace
• Repair or replace defective machine components, such as valves, and cylinders
• Perform machine changeovers and repairs as needed.
• Perform certified welding, cutting, and burning.
• General plant upkeep and maintenance .
• Complete all work instructions (work orders) and forms relating to maintenance, safety, and preventive maintenance while observing all safety operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma.
• 3 plus years of relevant machine maintenance experience
• Must demonstrate mechanical proficiency, and teamwork
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with supervision and other personnel (Bilingual helpful (English/ Spanish speaking)
• Demonstrates self-initiative
• Must be willing to work on alternate shifts and must demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes
• Must be at least 18 years or older
• Must join Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 104.
• U.S. work authorized individuals only.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer’s literature, diagrams, or schematics.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
