Maintenance Person

For this role, we need someone who is flexible, approachable and friendly and loves fixing things. You will take pride in everything you do – whether it’s painting and decorating, keeping the outside of the building and garden and grounds of our hotel looking good, fixing a broken toilet in a guest room or day-to-day jobs like changing light bulbs.

Attention to detail is imperative and you must be willing and able to perform a wide range of tasks.

Your duties include:

Basic plumbing, electrical and joinery work, occasional painting and decorating and Health & Safety responsibilities along with a myriad of other maintenance tasks so there is no lack of variety!

We expect you to:

· Carry out day-to-day maintenance both inside and outside the hotels.

· Keep the hotels in good decorative order.

· Be familiar with basic plumbing and electrical procedures.

· Attend to issues recorded in the maintenance book in a timely manner.

· Carry out Health and Safety tasks (fire safety; legionella tests etc).

· Liaise with other departments and outside contractors.

· Have good time management and be able to work to deadlines.

· Be willing to build on existing skills and knowledge.

You will have experience in all of the above, preferably with a background as a tradesperson or you will have previously been in a similar role.

This is a permanent position and you will typically work 10 to 20hrs per week but this may increase if specific projects are being undertaken. Weekend working may be required on occasion but this is not common.

Rate of pay is from £12.90 per hour relative to experience.
