We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner/Supervisor to join our team and play a key role in improving the reliability, efficiency and availability of our plant and equipment.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and coordination of maintenance activities across our manufacturing facility.

This is a key role working closely with the maintenance and production teams to ensure preventative maintenance is effectively planned and completed, equipment reliability is continually improved and unplanned downtime is minimised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining engineering and maintenance standards
  • Developing and implementing effective preventative maintenance and reliability systems to maximise plant efficiency and equipment availability
  • Planning and coordinating maintenance of hollowcore production equipment, including hollowcore casting/extrusion machinery, cutting equipment, stressing equipment and associated production systems.
  • Coordinating maintenance requirements for concrete batching, mixing, moulding and casting equipment used throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Utilising our Integrated Management System for maintenance planning, reporting, records management, work tracking and general maintenance administration
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing plant downtime and increasing equipment availability
  • Establishing maintenance priorities in consultation with production supervisors and coordinate maintenance activities according to operational and manufacturing requirements.
  • Managing critical replacement components and spare parts required to maintain the reliable operation of specialised precast production machinery.
  • Developing and maintaining planning documentation, procedures and work management standards
  • Providing technical input into the investigation of electrical, mechanical and control-system faults affecting production equipment.
  • Working closely with production to coordinate maintenance activities while minimising disruption to manufacturing
  • Maintaining a safe system of work by complying with company standards, policies and all relevant legislation and safety requirements

About You

We are looking for an organised and proactive maintenance professional who understands the importance of good planning and preventative maintenance in a busy manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

  • At least 3 years experience in maintenance planning, maintenance coordination or a similar role
  • Diploma Degree or higher in relevant field; at least 3 years experience can be substituted for formal qualifications.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, mining or heavy engineering environment
  • A strong understanding of preventative maintenance and equipment reliability
  • Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to analyse maintenance information and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with maintenance trades, production staff, contractors and management
  • A practical approach and the ability to understand the realities of maintaining large industrial plant and equipment
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

A mechanical or electrical trade background, engineering qualification or relevant technical qualification would be highly regarded.

What We Offer

  • Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 + Superannuation
  • Stable employment with an established Australian company operating since 1968
  • A long-term career opportunity within a successful and well-established business
  • Competitive remuneration based on experience
  • A diverse range of specialised manufacturing plant and equipment
  • The opportunity to make a genuine impact on plant reliability and production efficiency
  • A supportive and experienced maintenance and production team
  • A well-organised and professionally managed working environment
  • The opportunity to develop and implement maintenance systems and continuous improvement initiatives
