What they need

About Redwood Materials

Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 by JB Straubel, co-founder and former CTO of Tesla, on a simple but radical idea: the critical minerals powering the energy transition already exist. They just need to come back. Today Redwood is the largest lithium-ion battery recycler in North America — recovering, refining, and redeploying critical minerals from end-of-life batteries back into the supply chain. On the energy side, Redwood has deployed the largest second-life battery project in the world, delivering power to AI data centers in months rather than years using proprietary energy architecture engineered entirely in-house. The company is profitable, the market it operates in is projected to grow 20 to 50 times over the next decade, and Redwood is the only company with the supply chain, the technology, and the operational scale to lead it.

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the short-term planning and coordination of maintenance activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This role serves as the primary interface between Operations, Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, and the Spares Team to ensure work is properly planned, prioritized, resourced, and executed.

The Maintenance Planner focuses on daily and weekly maintenance activities, preventive maintenance execution, work order planning, and coordination of plant resources. The role is responsible for ensuring technicians have the information, materials, permits, tools, and labor required to successfully complete scheduled work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly maintenance schedules based on plant priorities, resource availability, and operational needs
  • Review, plan, and coordinate maintenance work orders, ensuring labor, materials, tools, permits, and safety requirements are identified prior to execution
  • Manage the preventive maintenance program, including PM scheduling, completion tracking, and continuous improvement of job plans
  • Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Storeroom teams to ensure work is prioritized and executed efficiently with minimal impact to production
  • Maintain work order backlog while monitoring schedule compliance, PM completion, and other maintenance KPIs to drive improved performance and reliability
  • Support contractor coordination and implementation of corrective actions resulting from reliability and root cause investigations

Required

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance, maintenance planning, reliability, operations, or related experience
  • Experience working within a CMMS (Limble, SAP, Maximo, Fiix, Infor, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance practices

Preferred

  • Experience in chemical processing, manufacturing, mining, energy, or heavy industrial operations
  • Maintenance Planning & Scheduling certification or equivalent training
  • Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles
  • Experience coordinating contractors and plant resources

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Frequent work in indoor office, warehouse, and operational environments.
  • Occasional work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and other conditions commonly found in industrial and manufacturing environments.
  • Occasional work at heights and around operating machinery and equipment.
  • Occasional driving may be required to support business operations, vendor visits, training, or travel between facilities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, and perform routine physical movements as required to support daily responsibilities.
  • Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment, including repetitive hand motions and keyboarding.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed footwear, and other safety equipment as required.
  • Ability to safely navigate active production, warehouse, construction, and operational environments while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
