We’re looking for someone who notices the little things, takes initiative, and doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves. At Chelsea Village Apartments in Matawan, our Maintenance Porter helps keep the community clean, the grounds looking good, and the property welcoming for residents.

If you have previous cleaning experience, know your way around basic landscaping, and are the kind of teammate people can count on, this could be a great fit.

One thing to know up front: This is an outdoor-heavy job in every season. Heat, cold, rain, and snow are part of the deal. Snow removal is a must when winter weather hits, so you need to be ready to pitch in when the property needs you. This position is not on call.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping things clean: Clean and maintain common areas, hallways, and other shared spaces.
• Caring for the grounds: Help with landscaping, outdoor cleanup, and keeping the property looking its best.
• Staying ahead of the mess: Spot issues, take initiative, and handle tasks before they become bigger problems.
• Pitching in with the team: Support maintenance staff with property upkeep and other tasks as needed.
• Handling winter weather: Assist with snow and ice removal to help keep walkways and common areas safe.
• Working safely: Use tools and equipment responsibly and stay alert to potential hazards.
• Respecting residents: Be courteous, professional, and mindful of the people who call Chelsea Village home.

What You Need to Bring

• Previous cleaning experience.
• Landscaping experience or practical knowledge.
• The ability and willingness to work outdoors in all seasons, including snow removal.
• The ability to handle an active, physical job that involves bending, stooping, climbing stairs, using tools, and lifting up to 75 lbs., with assistance for heavier items.
