Inn at the Cove is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented team member to join our Maintenance team. We take pride in creating a welcoming environment for both our guests and employees, and every department plays an important role in maintaining the experience our guests have come to expect. Our team works together across departments to keep the property safe, comfortable, clean, and looking its best.

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance / Engineering team member is responsible for the general repair, upkeep, and preventative maintenance of the hotel's interior and exterior areas while following company standards for quality, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, safety, and security.

This position performs routine maintenance throughout guest rooms, common areas, and exterior spaces and assists other departments as needed to support the overall operation of the hotel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine maintenance, including painting, caulking, carpet and floor care, and general repairs.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs to HVAC systems, guest room furniture, fixtures, equipment, and other hotel items.
• Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks and assist with the hotel's ongoing preventative maintenance program.
• Monitor the property for maintenance or repair needs and promptly report major issues to management.
• Help maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of exterior areas, including walkways, sidewalks, parking areas, landscaped areas, and other guest spaces.
• Assist with the upkeep of the pool area, outdoor seating areas, terraces, and other property amenities.
• Remove exterior trash and help keep common areas clean and presentable.
• Properly clean, maintain, and store tools and equipment after use.
• Assist with the setup and cleanup of guest rooms and other hotel areas when needed.
• Support Housekeeping and other departments as needed, including collecting or delivering linens, moving furniture, assisting guests, and completing other property-related tasks.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Follow all hotel safety, security, cleanliness, and operational standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the hotel.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Must be detail oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions regarding task priorities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist other departments when needed.
• Must learn and maintain the hotel's standards for the cleanliness, appearance, and maintenance of guest rooms, common areas, and exterior spaces.
• Ability to interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Basic maintenance and repair knowledge preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the work shift.
• Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to perform duties both indoors and outdoors and work throughout various areas of the property.

Pay: $17.25 - $18.75 per hour
