Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, ensuring equipment, facilities, and systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. This role supervises maintenance technicians, coordinates repairs and preventive maintenance, manages work orders, and supports continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime and improve operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and coordinate maintenance technicians and daily work assignments.
• Oversee preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
• Inspect facilities, machinery, equipment, and systems to identify repair or maintenance needs.
• Ensure timely completion of work orders and maintenance documentation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or production equipment issues as applicable.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to reduce downtime.
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures.
• Train, coach, and evaluate maintenance team members.
• Coordinate with operations, production, facilities, vendors, and contractors as needed.
• Support budget control by tracking maintenance costs and recommending cost-effective solutions.
• Respond to urgent maintenance issues and participate in on-call coverage when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing, facilities, property, or industrial environment.
• 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or equipment systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills; experience with CMMS/work order systems preferred.
