Compensation: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience and shift

Shifts Available: FT Day shift

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician ensures the safety, functionality, and comfort of healthcare and residential facilities. This role supports operational continuity and helps maintain a safe, welcoming environment for patients, residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to unanticipated facility needs to minimize risk and service disruption.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of buildings, systems, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and applicable codes.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across multiple disciplines.
• Receive onthejob training in:
• Electrical: Lighting, outlets, switches, panels, mediumvoltage systems.
• Plumbing: Fixtures, valves, faucets, toilets, drains.
• HVAC: Filters, coils, compressors, VFDs.
• Power Plant Systems: Boilers, chillers, water softeners.
• General Maintenance: Carpentry, painting, workspace modifications, fire/smoke wall repairs.
• Groundskeeping: Snow removal, exterior building upkeep.
• Patient Care Equipment: Fire detection systems, pneumatic tube systems.
• Maintain inventory and documentation of parts and repairs.
• Participate in oncall rotation for afterhours and weekend emergencies.
• Attend training sessions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Skills & Competencies

• Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Effective communication with coworkers, residents, families, and contractors
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform maintenance tasks

Work Environment

• Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and electrical systems
• Occasional contact with bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases
• Interaction with residents, staff, and potentially combative individuals
