Maintenance Technician- 2nd shift

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. This position responds to equipment breakdowns, performs preventive maintenance, assists with equipment improvements, and works with production and engineering personnel to minimize downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Diagnose production equipment failures and restore equipment to safe operating condition.
• Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot motors, sensors, switches, relays, contactors, solenoids, cylinders, valves, pumps, conveyors, and other industrial equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, and automated manufacturing systems.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting using appropriate meters and test equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Repair or replace bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, motors, pumps, cylinders, and similar components.
• Support installation, modification, and improvement of manufacturing equipment.
• Identify recurring equipment failures and assist with corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Properly document completed maintenance work and equipment repairs.
• Maintain tools, maintenance areas, and spare parts in an organized condition.
• Follow established Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, machine guarding, PPE, and other plant safety requirements.
• Communicate equipment condition and outstanding issues during shift handoff.
• Work with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve equipment-related issues.
• Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance or a related mechanical field.
• Basic knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, electrical test equipment, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment systematically and work independently when required.
• Ability to work 2nd shift and respond to production equipment issues in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLCs, industrial robots, automated equipment, and machine controls.
• Experience with FANUC robotics and/or industrial automation.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Technical certificate, apprenticeship, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field.

Physical Work Environment:

The position involves working in an industrial manufacturing environment and may require standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, working around operating machinery, and lifting or moving tools and equipment. Appropriate PPE and established safety procedures must be followed.
