Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and service-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our hotel team. In this role, you will help ensure our guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest standards of quality, safety, and appearance. The ideal candidate is skilled in general building maintenance, takes pride in their work, and is committed to providing an exceptional guest experience.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and work orders.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, painting, drywall, carpentry, and general building systems.
• Maintain guest rooms and public areas to brand standards.
• Complete repairs efficiently while minimizing disruption to guests and hotel operations.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment, tools, and mechanical systems.
• Assist with room renovations, furniture repairs, and special projects as assigned.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and hotel policies.
• Ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist with emergency situations and after-hours maintenance as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the Engineering, Housekeeping, and Front Office teams to provide exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, apartment maintenance, or commercial building maintenance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general mechanical repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues independently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evening shifts as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC certification or trade certification is a plus.
• Experience working in a Marriott-branded hotel or similar hospitality environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and hotel engineering systems.
