Now operated by the family's third generation, the company employs over 550 people across nine locations from Lakeland to Melbourne. Over its 80 year history, it has diversified into growing papaya, sugarcane, passionfruit, coffee and cocoa and has expanded vertically into produce sales, ripening, and processing.

Location: Tully Gorge Road, Far North Queensland

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on conveyor and roller systems, packing machinery and other equipment within the packing shed
• Improve operational efficiency to ensure optimal performance, minimal downtime, and safety compliance
• Identify faults and provide practical, effective solutions to technical problems that arise in the packing process
• Keep accurate records of maintenance work
• Identify safety issues, implement corrective actions, and provide innovative solutions with both safety and efficiency in mind
• Advise on, consult, and oversee the implementation of future equipment upgrades to improve and advance the production setup

Experience and Qualifications:

• Trade qualification preferred including:

  • Fitter and Turner
  • Diesel Mechanic
  • Fixed Plant Mechanic
  • Electrician or strong electrical knowledge

Or extensive hands-on experience with conveyor and roller systems.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
• Experience managing maintenance operations or overseeing equipment performance is highly desirable.
