Maintenance Technician

The BRAND NEW and soon opening Fairfield Inn & Suites Las Vegas North is seeking a dependable and well-rounded Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining the hotel’s facilities, equipment, guest rooms, public areas, and swimming pool while helping ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and associates.

The ideal candidate will have previous maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to perform a variety of general repairs and preventative maintenance tasks. Candidates should be comfortable working with hand and power tools and have the ability to read equipment manuals, repair instructions, and blueprints. State certification in pool maintenance is preferred.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and hotel facilities.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to help ensure equipment and building systems remain in proper working condition.
• Complete basic repairs and general maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Maintain, clean, inspect, and service the hotel swimming pool in accordance with safety and health standards.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance issues and make appropriate repairs when within the scope of the position.
• Repair or assist with the repair of hotel equipment, fixtures, furniture, and building components as needed.
• Coordinate with and oversee outside contractors when specialized or professional repairs are required.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
• Maintain tools, equipment, maintenance areas, and supplies in a clean and organized manner.
• Follow all hotel safety procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist with maintaining the overall appearance and condition of the hotel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel, commercial, apartment, or general building maintenance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair practices.
• Experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify maintenance and mechanical issues.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, repair instructions, and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Strong communication and guest-service skills.
• Pool maintenance certification preferred.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying items associated with maintenance duties.

Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour
