- Perform minor repairs, adjustments, installations, and general handyman work.
- Maintain safe, clean, and functional resident rooms, common areas, and staff areas.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow removal, grounds upkeep, and other weather-related needs.
- Conduct routine safety checks and report potential hazards or needed repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and preventative maintenance activities.
- Monitor maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment and communicate when replacements or additional supplies are needed.
- Follow facility safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Work cooperatively with Nursing, Housekeeping, Administration, and other departments.
- Respond appropriately to urgent maintenance issues and facility emergencies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and identify basic maintenance problems.
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Comfortable using common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read and follow basic instructions, maintenance manuals, and safety procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to determine practical solutions.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests and respond appropriately to urgent issues.
- Professional and respectful communication with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical maintenance tasks as required.
- Must maintain a safe work environment and follow all facility policies and procedures.
- Prior experience working in an assisted living, healthcare, apartment, hotel, or commercial facility is a plus.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred.
- Relevant trade certification or training is a plus, but strong hands-on experience and mechanical aptitude are highly valued.
