Maintenance Technician

GENERAL DESCRIPTION - PURPOSE OF ROLE: General preventative maintenance, repair, rework of all machines, production equipment and building.

Essential Functions: Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Rework and rebuild machinery and equipment in plant such as saws, cranes and welders to machinery specifications and /or best general industry repair practices
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery according to machine specifications and planned plant programs
• Service and maintain company vehicles
• Follow safety lock-out/tag-out procedures in all situations of repair, rework or maintenance
• Perform maintenance on the building and property as necessary
• Report all problems and safety concerns to supervisor
• Supports facility housekeeping and Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and procedures through department activities

Qualifications and Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Minimum 2-3 years mechanical experience preferred
• Engineering drawing reading required
• Valid Georgia driver's license may be required

Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: The successful candidate should:

• Have proficiency in basic math
• Be able to use hand tools, voltage meter, measuring instruments, and operate forklift and overhead cranes, lifting machines weighing up to 40 tons
• Communicate efficiently
• Be willing to learn daily and interact with a team
• Have the ability to work through problem solving processes and present ideas
