Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, foundry systems, CNC machining centers, and facility infrastructure. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime by inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technician with strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and industrial maintenance skills committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties:

Preventive Maintenance

• Perform scheduled PMs, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements.
• Maintain accurate PM records in CMMS or maintenance logs.
• Recommend improvements based on equipment performance.

Foundry & Grinding Equipment Maintenance

Maintain and repair equipment such as molding systems, core machines, shakeout systems, conveyors, dust collectors, furnaces, cooling systems, hydraulics, vibratory equipment, grinding/blasting equipment, cranes/hoists, and related controls.

Key tasks:

• Replace bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, gearboxes.
• Service pneumatic/hydraulic systems, pumps, motors.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures.
• Consult OEMs or technical experts for advanced troubleshooting.

CNC Machine Maintenance

Support vertical/horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes/mills, robotic loaders, coolant systems, chip conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.

Key tasks:

• Perform routine inspections, filter changes, lubrication checks.
• Diagnose alarms, assist with leveling/alignment.
• Support installations, relocations, and major repairs.
• Work with OEMs for complex troubleshooting.

Facility Infrastructure

Maintain building systems including compressors, air distribution, lighting, HVAC support equipment, electrical panels (within qualifications), plumbing, ventilation, docks, and overhead doors.

Key tasks:

• Leak detection, lighting replacement, compressor/dryer maintenance.
• Filter changes, drain inspections, general facility repairs.

Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures.
• Minimize downtime through efficient repairs.
• Read schematics, drawings, and manuals.
• Identify root causes and recommend permanent corrective actions.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience maintaining CNC equipment and heavy industrial machinery.
• Foundry or metal casting experience highly desirable.
• Preferred: LOTO, Forklift, Scissor/Aerial Lift experience.
• Preferred: PLC troubleshooting, Electrical Safety Training, and CMMS experience.
• Welding skills (MIG/TIG/Stick) highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to operate and support production equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong basic troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrates leadership by example in a hands‑on environment.
• Able to read, interpret, and clearly document work instructions and specifications.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work efficiently.
• Communicates effectively with employees at all levels.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic, measurements, and job‑specific math.
• Working knowledge of machines, tools, their functions, and basic maintenance needs.
• Understanding of customer and production requirements to meet specifications.
• Able to multi‑task, follow priorities, and apply strong troubleshooting techniques.
• Self‑starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Maintains excellent housekeeping and workplace organization.

Working Conditions:

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
• Ability to work long hours while standing and operating machinery.
• Ability to move objects and materials of at least 75lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $33.71 per hour
