About Plank Construction

Plank Construction is a locally owned and operated general contracting company based in Ayden, North Carolina, with over four generations of experience. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and operational efficiency of our facilities. This position will support Plank Construction’s sister company, Plank Management. There would also be opportunities to help with our Landscaping company.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will help our maintenance team perform maintenance tasks to ensure our properties, equipment, and workspaces remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. This hands-on role requires strong problem-solving skills, a working knowledge of building systems, and the ability to manage maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on buildings, tools, and equipment.
• Work together onsite with our current Maintenance team.
• Landscaping experience would be a plus.
• Utilization of property management software.
• Schedule repairs, servicing, and contractor work as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical issues, appliance malfunctions, and miscellaneous “handyman” issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and supplies.
• Maintain the service truck and keep tools organized.
• Assist in purchasing supplies for repairs needed.
• Manage supply inventory.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Support Plank Construction jobsites as needed.Qualifications
• Proven experience in maintenance, construction, or a similar field.
• Working knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• References will be called before a job offer will be made. Must be willing to do a Background check.

Schedule & Pay

• Flexible part-time hoursExpected: 15 - 20 per week
• This role could grow into a full-time position as Plank Management continues to build its portfolio

-$15 - $18 per hour, depending on experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
